The Isilon X Series NAS (Network Attached Storage) showed speeds beyond what is necessary for editing directly from the system as well as the most robust file system available in a NAS. The performance is reflected in the price.
A base 6TB (usable) NAS consists of three of the pictured chassis and two switches. This would be considered the foundation and more storage can be added without the need to rebuild the array.
