Grab 2G

The Anystream division of Grab Networks premiered their new 2G Agility system. The 2G system includes a new User Interface (UI) that makes it easier to create profiles and manage watch folders. The Agility and Folder Attendant configurations are combined into one summary page for review and the simple cross sharing of already created components.

Anystream also showed the new Velocity version 3.8. 3.8 eliminated the need for a separate ftp application to move the content from the PAR (Physical Asset Repository) to the final destinations. PAR has also been redesigned and streamline. Also within Velocity are new reporting and Dashboard tools for visibility of all content distributed as well as status per station or the entire group.

Low Latency Contribution Quality MPEG4 from Haivision

The Makito H.264 compression encoder is the lowest latency encoder on the market at 70ms. There is additional latency in the decode side, which Haivision does not have yet.

LiveCast

LiveCast is the reverse of Mobile DTV. With LiveCast a phone can broadcast to the internet of TV. LiveCast’s differentiator is low latency. Using their decoder a stream can be received at the studio in less than a second allowing for real-time dialog with the reporter or user.

LiveCast, formerly ComVu, has an accompanying web site with GPS tracking and the makings of a social community for LiveCasters. LiveCast is truly the profession version of “LifeCasting”.
